Job Description |
|
The Development Officer, Major Gifts will support the Major Gifts and Principal Gifts teams in reaching their ambitious fundraising targets, working in particular with the Head of Major Gifts and Legacies, and the Development Managers of both teams. The Development Officer will both support and play an active role, coordinating donor stewardship and organising cultivation and stewardship events. In addition, they will directly seek funding from their own focused portfolio of individual donors. |

Required Skills / Qualifications |
|
• Excellent attention to detail – accuracy in written communication, from emails, to letters, to reports and proposals.
• Strong interpersonal skills – able to communicate tactfully and diplomatically with colleagues and stakeholders of all levels both within the Gallery and outside (e.g. Trustees, senior volunteers, donors, prospective supporters).
• Excellent organisational skills – the ability to multi-task in a busy office, handling multiple tasks and providing support for several Development Managers simultaneously.
• High level of computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office – the ability to create letters, reports and proposals using these tools.
• Prioritisation skills – the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks to completion.
Essential criteria or considerations
• Previous experience of a fundraising, client-facing or sales office environment.
• This role requires working on site at the Gallery and entails attendance at some evening and breakfast events.
• Experience of using a database is desirable. |
