JOB TITLE: Education Officer (Maternity Cover) Fort Nelson
£28,114 - £30,319 per annum
The Royal Armouries is the United Kingdom’s national museum of arms and armour and one of the most important collections of its type in the world, housed at its headquarters and flagship museum in Leeds, its historic home at the Tower of London, and the Victorian Fort Nelson in Hampshire.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Education Officer to join the existing Education team.
We are looking for a dynamic museum educator to play a key role in our Education Team (Maternity Cover). In this 13-month post you will develop and deliver unique, world-class formal learning programmes and resources for schools with a dedicated team of Education Assistants and volunteers.

Required Skills / Qualifications |
|
A recognized teaching or related professional qualification Educated to degree level in history or a relevant subject - Essential
Educated to degree level in history or a relevant subject - Desirable
Recent experience in developing and delivering successful formal education sessions, from lessons and workshops to study days and outreach projects in a museum, gallery or heritage environment - Essential
Successful experience of supervising and developing staff, volunteers, interns, etc to deliver projects effectively - Desirable
Proven experience of operating budgets in a public sector museum context - Desirable
Experience of analysing user feedback on educational programmes, resources, etc- Desirable
