It’s documenting a collection for future generations

In quality and diversity, the collection of works of art in Royal Collection Trust's care is breath-taking.

Key responsibilities:
• As part of our Collections Management team, you’ll help document varied items in the Collection, ensuring the Collections Management database has every item recorded accurately.
• Collaborating with a range of teams within Royal Collection Trust and the Royal Household, you’ll assist with custodial control across Buckingham Palace.
• You’ll help assist with inventory and condition checking, cross-referencing historic inventories and updating locations and conservation information on the Collections Management System.

Collaborating with colleagues who are experts in their fields, and working with such a variety of items, will both stretch and develop your experience. In all you do, you’ll help document items within our collection for years to come.
  Required Skills / Qualifications
• Practical experience in a museum, collection environment or other organisations handling fragile goods coupled with a broad interest in the history of art, in particular Decorative Arts, British and Royal history, you're ready to make the next step in your career.

• With great IT skills and have experience of using database systems.

• Organised and self-managed, you're able to deliver projects either -independently or with the team.

• As an excellent communicator and a natural team player, you’ll enjoy working with colleagues across departments to achieve high standards, collaboratively solving problems.

Above all, you'll be keen to grow your understanding around the challenges of cataloguing an historic collection, and be eager to take advantage of the many learning opportunities that the Collection presents.
