Job Description |
|
You will play a key role in the delivery of the IWM public programme across the 5 IWM branches. You will be responsible for the planning, co-ordination, management and delivery of the production phase for temporary exhibitions, including the project management of the construction and object installation. Working with both internal and external stakeholders you will ensure the exhibitions open on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard.
You will be a critical member of the project team, responsible for the procurement, coordination and management of exhibition contractors throughout an exhibition project and working alongside internal teams to provide quality assurance for build and install elements.
This role is a permanent role and is based at IWM London. It is mainly project management focused and requires a high level of proficiency in MS Word and Excel. There may also be a requirement for line management responsibilities in the future. Travel to the other IWM branches is a requirement of the role, where travel is required to other branches this will be expensed.
Travel within the UK will be required from time to time including to other IWM branches. Out of hours and weekend work may be necessary during busy periods, in particular in the run up to exhibition openings. Time off in lieu will be offered to cover this. |

Required Skills / Qualifications |
|
• A degree or equivalent professional or vocational qualification.
• Recent experience of leading and managing projects which involve complex administrative planning, budget management and meeting tight deadlines, ideally in a museum or heritage environment.
• Experience of site or contractor management requiring the overseeing and coordination of construction and staff operations.
• Proven experience of budget allocation, management, and control.
• Experience of procurement procedures within publicly funded organisations including compiling tenders.
• High level of proficiency of using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Excellent teamworking and communications skills. |
