The Museum holds internationally important collections of anthropology and musical instruments, as well as a popular natural history gallery and Aquarium. The 16 acres of beautiful Gardens feature a tropical Butterfly House and offer stunning views across London. We provide learning experiences for a diverse range of visitors, including families, community groups, young people and adults using our spaces, displays and a Handling Collection of over 3500 objects. We are looking for a Community Engagement Manager for our highly respected programme connecting people with the Horniman’s collections, displays and gardens, designing inclusive opportunities where enjoyment, inspiration, respect and understanding can flourish. Programmes address a broad range of interests and needs to enhance wellbeing and create access to the Horniman, particularly amongst audiences who are currently under-served. With a strong commitment to equitable access to cultural opportunities, you will have a track record of delivering innovative museum, arts or heritage programmes, created by, for and with community partners. You will be a passionate advocate for inclusive practice, with experience of co-production with diverse audiences in a museum, arts or heritage setting, and of leading and developing a team.
