If so, we invite you to join our core team as the Marketing & Communications Manager at our vibrant museum. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of our mission to inspire curiosity and appreciation for our collection and the stories it tells. Your creativity and leadership will drive innovative marketing campaigns, enhance our online presence, and effectively engage our community.
Collaborating closely with our small, dynamic team, you will create compelling content that tells our story and highlights our offering. By leveraging diverse communication channels, you will ensure that our message reaches a broad audience, inviting people from all walks of life to experience the magic of our site. Your role will be integral to building and sustaining our charity and its relationships with visitors, donors, and partners while fostering a deep, lasting connection to our museum.

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to promote our museum programs and events.
• Oversee and create engaging content for our website, social media, broadcast media, newsletters, and press releases. Collaborate both internally and externally to develop marketing materials that resonate with our audience's interests and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
• Manage the museum's external communication and public relations efforts, acting as a liaison with media and stakeholders.
• Manage social media accounts and engage with followers to increase digital presence.
• Foster relationships with media outlets, influencers, and community partners to enhance outreach.
• Lead marketing campaigns from conception to execution, analysing their impact and effectiveness, adjusting strategies as needed.
• Organize and coordinate promotional events and outreach activities that enhance community engagement.
Package Information
Employer: Old Kiln Museum CIO (Registered Charity Number 1200370)
Location: The rural Life Living Museum, Reeds Road, Tilford, Surrey GU10 2DL.
Working Hours: Part time - 24 hours a week. Monday – Sunday. (Actual days are flexible.)
This new role is being provided through a funding package and will be fixed term for the first year, with potential to become permanent with increased hours in year 2.
Remuneration: £28,000 per annum pro-rata (£16,800 actual).
Holiday: 16.8 days plus 8 public holidays.
Reports to: Museum Director.
Key Collaborations: Collections Manager, Head of Learning & Discovery, Museum Operations Manager, Volunteers. |

Required Skills / Qualifications |
|
• Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Proven experience in marketing and communication management, preferably in the Museums, cultural or nonprofit sector.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling that engages diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms, with a keen understanding of trends.
• Ability to analyse data and metrics to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A passion for art, history, and culture, with a desire to share that passion with the community. |
