External Evaluator
Hours: Freelance/part time
Maximum budget £10,000 (inclusive of VAT, travel and expenses)
This is a freelance contract, which will run from March 2025 to July 2027. The maximum budget is £10,000 (inclusive of VAT, travel and expenses).
The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum is a welcoming social and cultural space where everyone can discover, learn, and enjoy as visitors, co-producers, artists, and makers.
We are looking for an experienced evaluator to help us evidence the impact of our National Lottery Heritage Funded Cheltenham’s BIG Museum Project. Cheltenham’s BIG Museum Project aims to reinterpret and redisplay the Wilson’s collections galleries through community-led work with Cheltenham’s communities.
The Evaluator will examine the impact of Cheltenham’s BIG Museum Project, in response to the work generated by the project (such as training and development and innovative approaches to enhancing greater engagement with new and underserved audiences). The outputs of the contract brief are:
• A comprehensive and useful evaluation report for the project which will be appropriate for both internal audiences and our funders, primarily NLHF.
• An evaluation framework to capture evidence around the project objectives and outcomes throughout the life of the project.
The Wilson is committed to building an organisation of mutual respect and dignity, promoting a welcoming, diverse and inclusive working and learning environment. We recognise that everyone is different in a variety of visible and non-visible ways, and that those differences are to be recognised, respected, and valued. We aim to provide a place where everyone can thrive, supporting all staff to achieve their full potential. We aspire to remove economic, social and cultural barriers that may otherwise prevent people from succeeding.
We therefore welcome and encourage applications from all communities regardless of culture, background, age, disability, sex, gender identity, ethnicity, religion/belief, or sexual orientation.
Cheltenham’s BIG Museum Project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thanks to National Lottery players, we will be able to create a space that celebrates Cheltenham’s heritage. The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. |
