DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge
SALARY: £34,866 - £45,163

Be a part of something amazing ........

The Fitzwilliam Museum is looking for an experienced, imaginative and innovative Digital Content Manager to manage their digital platforms, social media channels and campaigns.

The role holder will have significant experience in the museum, gallery and heritage sector, working with websites and digital content management systems, alongside experience of managing and growing organisational social media channels of significant scale. The role holder will have managed and supervised photography and filming shoots and will have had experience of planning and delivering complex digital campaigns to a deadline. They will have a passion for storytelling, a creative flair, excellent interpersonal skills, with excellent copywriting and editing skills and will be able to demonstrate close attention to detail.

In return, we offer an encouraging and supportive environment both within the Museum and the wider University, generous holiday allowance, an attractive pension scheme and many employee benefits.

The Digital Content Manager is a key new role in a new team within the Audiences and Brand directorate. Collaborating with colleagues from across the Museum and external partners, the role holder will be responsible for the development of inspiring and enriching digital content and experiences to bring our collections, research, programmes and stories to life. The Digital Content team's work is fundamental to enabling the Museum to achieve its digital, audience development and income ambitions, ensuring our digital content and platforms deliver value to our audiences and organisation.

You will be based at Fitzwilliam Museum, the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and one of the world's leading university museums. With over half a million works of art and antiquities spanning many cultures and centuries, the Museum has an international reputation for excellence in research, conservation, exhibitions and learning. As well as over 500,000 visitors who enjoy the Museum each year, we share our collections with a much wider audience than can physically visit through our touring exhibitions, loans, community engagement, digital programmes and research.

To help support our staff to thrive both professionally and personally, we have adopted a system of hybrid working, meaning staff are empowered to split their time between in-person collaboration and remote working. The frequency of remote working may vary and will be subject to discussion with your line manager.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a security check.
