Job Description |
|
You will lead on user engagement and content management for the National Gallery’s contribution to the HSDS, fostering collaboration across the UK GLAM sector and developing workflows to ensure data accessibility and usability. By designing user scenarios, organising workshops, and coordinating efforts to develop a sector-wide data catalogue, you will facilitate and participate in the testing of technical solutions, gathering user feedback and providing insights to technical specialists to support iterative improvements.
What You’ll Do:
• Collaborate with National Gallery and project partners to define user scenarios and workflows for data management and HSDS use.
• Work closely with the National Gallery’s data specialist to configure and test digital platforms like ResearchSpace, ensuring they meet user needs.
• Develop metadata profiles, user requirements, and a simple data management workflow to support both large and smaller institutions.
• Lead engagement with GLAM institutions, identifying and organising key heritage science data for the UK-wide sector catalogue.
• Organise workshops, webinars, and surveys to engage the heritage science community and promote FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data practices.
• Document all findings, workflows, and recommendations, producing detailed reports to guide the future development of HSDS. |
|
Required Skills / Qualifications |
|
We’re looking for someone with:
• Experience in digital content management, user engagement, or data coordination, ideally within the cultural heritage or conservation field.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across institutions.
• Familiarity with metadata standards, FAIR data principles, and digital platforms used in heritage science (e.g., ResearchSpace).
• A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and stakeholder engagement. |
