Job Description |
|
In this role, you will work with a team of specialists to organise and standardise heritage science datasets, develop workflows, and configure digital systems like ResearchSpace and Arches for Science. By creating reusable solutions and supporting the adoption of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles, you will help ensure that heritage science data is accessible and practical for a broad range of users, from small institutions to individual researchers.
What You’ll Do:
• Metadata and Workflow Development: Design and implement metadata templates, data standards, and workflows for heritage science data, ensuring consistency and interoperability across the GLAM sector.
• Digital Documentation Systems: Configure and test platforms like ResearchSpace, Arches for Science, and Cordra, creating reusable pilots and showcasing best practices in digital documentation and FAIR data preparation.
• Data Ingestion and Extraction: Develop practical demonstrations for integrating data into the HSDS and extracting it for new digital resources, ensuring accessibility for diverse users.
• Community Collaboration: Work with National Gallery staff, project partners, and the wider GLAM community to refine workflows and procedures, ensuring inclusivity for smaller organisations and individual researchers.
• Training and Support: Deliver training sessions, develop support materials, and provide technical guidance to empower GLAM professionals in adopting these tools.
• Documentation and Recommendations: Produce detailed technical documentation, user guidelines, and strategic recommendations for future system enhancements. |
